Trend Talk: Wear red without the basics

The Cherry Red is the hot colour of the season (pun intended). It might feel scary to wear red without sticking to the basics, but oh how that mustn’t be the case!

With a bright hue like red, the basics colours such as white, grey and black might feel like the only options when trying to wear red. In an effort to prove such thoughts wrong, above are four wonderful ways to style the eye-catching colour with other than the basics. My personal favourites are: mustard, green, blue, burgundy and pink. Even though grey pants made it to the finals, the choice to go beyond and use two other colours (blue and pink) is what makes this outfit qualify.

The mission to wear red should never limit the use of other colours, but rather embrace what makes it even more vibrant than by itself. Green for example is the contrast colour of red and gives it an even more vibrant shade than infront of a basic tone.

There was a grander focus on more autumn-inspired looks due to the season we are entering. Although during summer, lighter shades of each outfit would look wonderful together with red, such as a baby blue or a mint green. These looks are meant for inspiration, therefore I more than encourage to twist and turn the outfits to match your style and wardrobe. Maybe you prefer sneakers for all the outfits, or perhaps skirts suit your figure more? The options to wear red in your own way are endless!
